Testimonials

  • Hi Vivien We had a really relaxing holiday. Pirha Evi is great. The wonderful pool was very suitable for our 89 year old - she was never out of her depth. The house was great. We used the kitchen a lot and it was very well equipped. Ali and Nurdan were excellent hosts and plied us every few days with their own fresh fruit and veg (which we were also encouraged to pick ourselves)-and cooking (Ali cooked in the outside oven one day, and on another Nurdan had us all to tea). We knew that they would provide help promptly if it was needed. We used the Sunday market in Akbel for most other needs - very good for fish, and not too crowded. We used their bikes and explored Bezirgan. Ali led me on a walk (Lycian remains in the hills above the villa) and a cycle. Perhaps a fuller folder with info, where to visit etc. would be beneficial. One worthwhile trip was to Sugaten, a totally non touristy busy village 20 min drive inland from the villa. We also enjoyed the cafe in the Dervisg Village in Bezirgan and the rural ambiance. Kalkan can be rather hot and still, and we enjoyed the cooler air in Bezirgan. However we enjoyed outings to the Turkish bath in the Kalkan Regency, and a boat trip on Memhets ghulet 'Lunar'. Cars passing the villa at night and accelerating uphill are audible - particularly on a Saturday - but you soon get used to it and to the local cock and distant morning call to prayer. Robert H
